We were proud to once again support this year's PCA Rookie Camp, marking the 12th consecutive year we have been involved in delivering sessions as part of the programme. We are incredibly grateful to our long standing clients at the Professional Cricketers' Association for the continued trust they place in us to contribute to such an important stage in players' careers.
The Rookie Camp is a core component of the PCA's Personal Development and Welfare Programme, designed to equip young professionals with the tools and awareness needed to build sustainable performance both on and off the field. The programme provides players with guidance on a wide range of topics that will support them throughout their careers and beyond.
The afternoon sessions focused on personal development, with a social media masterclass delivered by our very own Matt Himsworth. Matt's session was interactive, focussing on taking ownership of their digital presence, highlighting both the opportunities and risks associated with social media platforms and the importance of weighing up the 'risk vs reward'. The session explored how athletes can use social media positively while also staying safe online and protecting their personal reputation.
Whilst Matt delivered his session at one end of the room, which overlooked Edgaston Cricket ground, Fraser Franks and Celia Quansah spoke to a separate group of athletes about healthy relationships and the importance of being a good teammate. The discussion centred around key themes including respect, responsibility, and the importance of setting boundaries in personal relationships.
As always, it was a privelige for our team to contribute to the development of the next generation of professional cricketers. We look forward to continuing our work with the PCA and supporting players as they navigate both the opportunities and challenges of life in professional sport.
