Paralympian Krysten Coombs joins b5 as senior consultant

We’re delighted to announce that Paralympian Krysten Coombs has joined B5 Consultancy as a Senior Consultant.

Krysten has been competing at the highest level of para-badminton for over a decade winning golds in both the World and European Championships. He represented Team GB at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, winning a bronze medal in Tokyo before upgrading to a silver medal in the SH6 men’s singles in an epic final in Paris.

Krysten is delivering an innovative and inspiring session which makes the proposition - being born with dwarfism is like being a Premier League footballer! It's so fun seeing the players engage with this idea.

This week he hit the ground running in his new role, visiting Rotherham United where their Under-11 players engaged beautifully with the proposition. Krysten discussed with the lads being different (something Premier League footballers choose, those with dwarfism don't), dealing with challenges and suffering abuse, online and offline, all topped off with a penalty shootout challenge with both Krysten and the lads hitting top bins! 

Krysten helped the young players think differently about difference, about resilience, and about how we treat others. He encouraged the group to recognise the value of empathy, the power of sport to bring people together, and the importance of challenging unhelpful assumptions.

It was a fantastic session that left a lasting impression. His lived experience and elite sporting background make him a powerful voice for inclusion and positive change. We’re incredibly proud to have Krysten on board and look forward to the many important conversations his work will spark in the months ahead.
