Assistant Role - 2023
Founded in 2020 by media lawyer Matt Himsworth and former footballer Fraser Franks we are a consultancy working largely in sport, retained by Premier League football clubs, player organisations and we support staff and individual talent on matters off the pitch.
Our focus is on safe behaviours and limiting the risks that exist in professional sport. From putting out fires and supporting players and staff in times of crisis to offering education on social media, communications, relationships, alcohol and its impacts and much much more.
In 2021 we were joined by Crystal Palace Women’s player Leigh Nicol who has inspired and influenced so many people with her fight back from being a victim of intimate image abuse and she has allowed us to increase our help and support further into women’s sport.
We offer knowledge and research for football clubs and we are expanding our capability in that research area. We are recruiting a full-time assistant primarily to focus on research but with the prospect of training and growing that role to include client engagement, marketing and even presenting to groups of athletes and staff.
The perfect candidate doesn’t exist. We are completely open-minded and don’t have any minimum requirements on education or background. We would like to hear from a diverse group of candidates. A knowledge and understanding of sport and the expectations and challenges of elite sport would be a great help plus a key eye for detail, a passion and talent in research and an ability to write findings up clearly and with skill.
We want people who are ambitious and believe that they could grow a career with us but also who fit our key values of integrity, kindness, understanding and curiousness.
You would answer to director Matt Himsworth but would work also with Fraser Franks and Leigh Nicol and likely also some of our Senior Consultants Brian McDermott, Shaun Whiter and Richard McElwee.
We are all based all over the UK (and Ireland in Rich’s case) and we do not have an office. We are, however, very social and have regular Zoom catch ups and meet often when delivering sessions at client training grounds and other premises. We will refund costs for travel and would expect to get you involved in client visits and trips where appropriate.
It’s a flexible working environment and we would expect to pay a competitive full-time wage based on experience and other relevant factors. Ultimately we’d love to employ someone who can learn and grow with us as a young business.
